Micron (MU) Analysis

Introduciton

Micron is a strong buy for me. This company offers a great future because of the massive surge in demand for memory chips which are driven by AI. Micron also has the leading position in the second strongest industry out of the main 197 industries which makes it a very strong company.

AI Driven Growth

The primary reason to consider buying MU is its crucial role in the artificial intelligence world. Micron is a core supplier of HBM3E memory for major AI chip producers like Nvidia, integrating it deeply into the AI supply chain. Sales of Micron’s AI-focused server products have surged, reaching an estimated $10 billion in fiscal 2025. Micron management estimate the total addressable market for HBM will reach around $100 billion by the end of the decade. Micron’s advancements in next-generation 1-gamma DRAM technology and HBM products position it competitively, offering superior energy efficiency, higher performance, and increased bit density necessary for complex AI workloads.

Strong Financial Results

Micron’s recent financial results underscore its strong position and future potential. In 2025 earning jumped up to 49% year over year. Just in Quarter 4 of fiscal 2025, HBM revenue reached nearly $2 billion alone, just on that we can estimate a annual run rate close to $8 billion. Analysts estimate in fiscal 2026 there should be another 46% sales growth. This company also has a strong secular momentum as global sales jumped by 25% year-over-year in September. The semiconductor sales in America is dominated by Micron with their growth outpaced the global average with a 31% growth in September.

Risks and Competition

Although Micron has strong financial results and incredible growth, this company still has to compete with other giant companies that were already in the market. The two biggest companies that Micron has to compete with is Samsung and SK Hynix. Samsung was already a much bigger company with a larger memory chip business and is Micron’s biggest competitor. SK Hynix although not as big as Samsung is also a big competitor in the semiconductor memory market.

Conclusion

Micron Technology is a fundamentally strong company with a great growth and profitability. Plus the extra benefit of the surge of the AI market, Micron is a strong buy. Even though Micron has two big competitors, but the higher HBM sales lead to higher growth. In conclusion Micron is a fundamentally strong company with great growth and a strong industry.
